This summary is a guide. The full details are below.
About these terms
These terms cover your use of the MySchengen mobile app and myschengenapp.com. MySchengen is operated by Catchpole Digital Ltd (“we”, “us”, or “our”), registered in England and Wales, company number 14027851. Our registered office is Cliveden Chambers, Cliveden Place, Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, United Kingdom, ST3 4JB. Contact: developer@catchpoledigital.co.uk.
Please read these terms before using the service. By downloading or using the app, you agree to the terms that apply to that use. If you do not agree, do not use the app. Our Privacy policy separately explains how we process information; agreeing to these terms does not consent to optional analytics.
Nothing here removes statutory consumer rights or any other protection that cannot lawfully be excluded.
What MySchengen does
MySchengen helps one traveller record past, ongoing, and planned trips and estimate ordinary Schengen short-stay allowance under the 90-days-in-any-180-day-period rule. Features include remaining-day calculations, a calendar, trip planning, projected overstay warnings, and JSON backup export and import.
Results depend on your recorded dates, the device’s calendar date, and the calculation model. Future plans are scenarios and must be updated if your actual travel changes. Entry and exit days count as days of presence, and the calculation engine counts overlapping presence days once.
Warnings are shown inside the app. Do not assume it will send a notification or remind you to leave. MySchengen is not affiliated with the European Union, a government, a consulate, or a border authority.
Planning information, not permission to travel
MySchengen is a planning aid, not legal or immigration advice, an official record, or a guarantee of entry or lawful stay. A displayed allowance does not establish your eligibility to enter or remain in a country.
You are responsible for checking your nationality, visa and permit conditions, passport validity, and other entry requirements with official sources. Verify important dates independently before booking or travelling. You can start with the European Commission’s short-stay guidance and the authorities responsible for your destination.
The app does not determine the effects of long-stay visas, residence permits, bilateral agreements, dual citizenship, EU/EEA/Swiss free movement, or other exemptions and special regimes. It does not support multiple traveller or family profiles.
The model may deliberately count recorded days conservatively. For example, its country selection does not alter the day-counting engine, and it may count records for dates before a country joined Schengen. Record only dates relevant to your situation and obtain qualified advice where the ordinary short-stay rule is not enough.
Paid access and trying the app
MySchengen is a paid app. You can try it by adding and managing one stored trip before paying. Payment is required to add further trips and use features that require paid access, including backup import. This one-trip allowance does not start a subscription or charge you automatically.
The purchase screen and app store confirmation explain the product you are buying, its price, currency, billing period, and any renewal or trial conditions. We do not promise a particular price or subscription duration on this website.
If paid access expires, your local trip records are not automatically deleted. Some actions, including adding trips, editing when multiple trips are stored, and importing, may require renewed access. Backup export remains available so you can keep a copy of your records.
Billing, cancellation, and refunds
Apple App Store or Google Play handles your payment. RevenueCat manages purchase validation and access inside the app. We do not receive your full payment card details.
- If you buy an automatically renewing subscription, it renews under the price, period, and cancellation deadline shown by the store unless you cancel in time.
- Manage or cancel a subscription through the app’s subscription-management option or your Apple or Google account. Deleting the app, deleting trips, or withdrawing analytics consent does not cancel billing.
- Cancellation generally stops future renewal; access normally continues for the paid period unless the store’s terms or applicable law provide otherwise.
- Use Restore purchases to ask the store to restore an eligible purchase. You may need the same store account. A purchase on one platform does not automatically establish access on another.
- Request a refund using the relevant store’s process, or contact us for help. Store processes do not replace any cancellation, refund, repair, or other remedies you have under applicable consumer law.
Where a legal cancellation period applies to digital content or a subscription, the store’s purchase flow explains how it applies and any consent required for immediate supply. These terms do not impose a blanket “no refunds” rule.
Your records and backups
Enter accurate dates, include all relevant stays in the rolling period, close ongoing trips when you leave, and keep planned dates up to date. Incorrect or missing records and an incorrect device date can produce misleading results.
Trip records are local to your device. We do not provide account-based cloud sync and generally cannot recover records you have lost. Export a backup before replacing a device, removing app data, or performing an import that replaces existing trips.
You choose where exported backups go. Keep them secure and review the file and import result carefully. Device backups and third-party file storage are governed by those services’ terms. This does not remove our responsibility for data loss or damage where applicable law makes us responsible.
Privacy and connected services
Local trip recording and calculations work offline. Purchases, restore, subscription management, feedback, and fetching configuration may need an internet connection and functioning third-party services. Purchase validation can fail if the store or network is unavailable.
We use RevenueCat for paid access, Sentry for app crash reporting and feedback, PostHog for app configuration and optional analytics, and Cloudflare for this website. The Privacy policy explains their roles, the information involved, and your choices.
Optional analytics are not a condition of buying or using paid features. Turning them off does not switch off purchase validation, essential app diagnostics, or operational configuration.
Licence and acceptable use
Subject to your applicable purchase and store terms, we give you a limited, non-exclusive licence to use MySchengen for your own travel planning on devices you are entitled to use. You may use it to plan your own business travel, but may not resell the app or provide it as your own service.
The app’s code, design, branding, and website materials belong to us or our licensors. Third-party and open-source components remain subject to their own licences. You keep your rights in the trip information and notes you enter.
You must not unlawfully copy or distribute the app, bypass purchase checks, interfere with services, submit malicious files, or use the service unlawfully. Restrictions on modification or reverse engineering apply only to the extent permitted by law and the applicable software licences.
App store terms
Your download and purchases are also subject to the terms of the store you use. For Apple downloads, the Apple Standard End User License Agreement applies unless a valid custom licence is supplied through the store. These service terms do not replace that licence or the store’s billing terms.
We, rather than Apple or Google, provide MySchengen and are responsible for app support and claims about it to the extent required by applicable law. The stores handle matters such as store accounts, downloads, and payments under their own terms. Where an applicable Apple licence gives Apple third-party enforcement rights, those rights remain unaffected.
You must comply with applicable export-control and sanctions laws and the eligibility requirements of your store account.
Updates and availability
We may release updates to improve reliability, security, calculations, and features. Keep the app and your device software up to date. We cannot promise uninterrupted service or that every device and future operating system will be supported indefinitely.
We will respect the features and access purchased for an active paid period and your statutory rights. Changes needed for security, law, or store requirements may affect availability. Where a change materially affects a paid service, we will provide appropriate notice and any remedies required by law. Future pricing changes will be handled through the applicable store process.
Information and screenshots on the website illustrate the app and may show sample trips. Availability and purchase options depend on the actual store listing for your device and region.
Our responsibility and your rights
We will provide the service with reasonable care and skill and honour applicable requirements for digital content, including that paid content matches its description. If there is a problem, contact us so we can investigate and explain the available remedy.
We do not guarantee that calculations cover every legal situation, that every overstay risk will be detected, or that a border authority will accept the app’s results. You should not make travel or immigration decisions solely on an app estimate.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, losses caused by inaccurate information you supply, or failures outside our reasonable control. We do not exclude responsibility where our own failure to meet a legal or contractual obligation makes us liable. We do not exclude or limit liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Your statutory rights, including applicable rights to repair, replacement, a price reduction, refund, or compensation, remain in place. No general disclaimer in these terms overrides them.
Stopping use
You can stop using MySchengen at any time. Export any records you want to keep, manage your local data and backups, and cancel recurring payments separately through your store.
We may restrict connected services where reasonably necessary to address serious misuse, security threats, or legal requirements. Where appropriate, we will explain the reason and allow a reasonable opportunity to resolve it. Any action remains subject to your paid-access and statutory rights.
Law and resolving concerns
Please contact developer@catchpoledigital.co.uk if you have a concern. We will try to resolve it with you.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence. Courts in England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction. This does not prevent you from bringing proceedings in your local courts where applicable law gives you that right.
If a provision cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions continue to apply where lawful. A delay in enforcing a term does not by itself waive it.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes to the service, law, or store requirements. The effective date appears at the top of this page. We will give appropriate notice of material changes and seek agreement where required. Changes will not retrospectively remove rights you have already acquired for a purchase.
Keep a copy of the terms relevant to your purchase. You can save or print this page using your browser.
